Technical & Usage Data
Automatically collected when the app connects to your school's server
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. Your data is used solely to deliver school management services.
We do not collect location data, microphone input, camera images, contact lists, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or any behavioural tracking data. The app contains zero advertisements.
We use the information collected solely to operate the SkoolPillar app. We never use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your school's use of the platform.
Account & Identity
Authenticates your login, secures your session, and supports multiple student profiles on a single device for families with more than one child at the same school.
Student Profile
Displayed within the app as read-only information, including health-related data such as blood group where provided by the school. Any changes must be made by your school administrator.
Academic Records
Used to display your academic information within the app.
School Communications
Used to deliver school communications and alerts to you.
Student-Submitted Data
Requests submitted through the app are sent to your school for review and approval. Account changes are applied securely.
Push Notification Token
Registered with your school's server so the school can send push notifications directly to your device.
Financial Records
Displayed as a read-only record maintained by your school. No payment processing takes place inside the app.
Technical & Usage Data
IP address and device information are transmitted automatically as part of every request to your school's server. This data is not stored separately by SkoolPillar.
We request only the minimum Android permissions required to deliver the app's features. Here is a plain-English explanation of each:
Internet Access
Required to connect to your school's server to load your school data.
Network State
Detects whether your device is connected to the internet so the app can show an offline screen instead of failing silently.
Post Notifications (Android 13+)
Required on Android 13 and above to display push notifications sent by your school.
Receive Boot Completed
Allows push notification delivery to resume automatically after your device restarts so you never miss a school alert.
Vibrate
Used for notification vibration feedback when your school sends an alert.
Wake Lock
Briefly prevents the device from sleeping when a background notification arrives to ensure reliable delivery.
The following permissions are explicitly blocked and will never be requested: Camera, Microphone, Location (fine & coarse), Contacts (read & write), Video Media, Audio Media, and Write External Storage.
SkoolPillar allows you to view files shared by your school. Files are opened directly on your device for viewing purposes only. No files are saved to your device's storage, gallery, or any shared location. No storage permissions are requested or used.
SkoolPillar never saves any file to your device's gallery or shared storage. No photo library or media permissions are used.
SkoolPillar is used by school students who may be under 18. We take our obligations to protect young users extremely seriously.
SkoolPillar fully complies with Google Play's Families Policy:
Parental consent: Student data is provided to SkoolPillar by the school, which is responsible for obtaining any required parental or guardian consent in accordance with applicable law. SkoolPillar does not collect data directly from students or parents — all data originates from the school's own administrative records.
Parental rights: Parents wishing to review, correct, or delete their child's data should contact their school's administrator, who manages all student records. You may also email us at skoolpillar@gmail.com.
Data minimisation: Student profiles contain only information the school already holds for administrative purposes. No additional personal data is ever collected beyond what is necessary for school management.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
School offboarding: If a school ceases using SkoolPillar, all student data remains on the school's own server infrastructure. SkoolPillar holds no central copy of that data. The school is responsible for managing and deleting their own server data after their use of SkoolPillar ends.
If you suspect a security issue or unauthorised access to your account, contact your school administrator immediately and email us at skoolpillar@gmail.com.
SkoolPillar integrates with a minimal number of trusted third-party services to deliver core functionality. We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers.
We use no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or social media SDKs. The app is completely ad-free.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
How to delete your account:
You can submit an account deletion request directly through our dedicated deletion page at skoolpillar.com/account-deletion/, or from within the app via Profile → Account Deletion. You may also email skoolpillar@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your username and school name. We will verify your identity and permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. A confirmation email will be sent when complete.
Alternatively, your school administrator can delete your account directly — this is often the fastest route.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All profile, academic, and personal data is removed from the school's server.
Policy changes: We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the app and by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Data retention: Data is retained for as long as the student is enrolled at the school. Upon a verified deletion request, all data is permanently removed within 30 days.
